The purpose of an α-phe AIMS is to ensure that an asset will perform its required functions effectively and efficiently whilst maintaining asset value and protecting people, the environment and company reputation. It should define the people, systems, process-es, and resources that are required to maintain asset integrity, and to ensure that they are in place, are correctly utilized and will per-form when required over the whole life cycle of the asset.

The AIMS workflow above depicts a continuous feedback loop adopting the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) approach. It also identifies how the AIMS will handle the integrity management objective of the Company.

Each element in the Work Process represents an individual module within the AIMS Software.

Asset Management / Hierarchy Module

This module represents one of the most important core modules of this software system. This module will maintain all the assets throughout the company, making it easier to manage and track the maintenance required. This data in this module can be create manually or uploaded from excel files or can be synchronized easily through integration with CMMS like SAP, MAXIMO etc…

Preventative Maintenance Module

This module will allow the assets to be put into a regular maintenance plan based on the maintenance strategy of time based, risk based and condition based for each equipment’s. Analytical Modules such as RBI, RCM and SIL will influence the inspection method and inspection frequency, details and next due dates as risk based strategies. Manages all maintenance strategies and will automatically raise work orders in CMMS systems. A CMMS (SAP / Maximo/ and others) integration facility is available to download all the PM work orders and update back the updated PM. This module will have activities associated with each maintenance strategy. The Module will also track the progress of each activity. Software allows optimizing the tasks in Preventative Maintenance.

Work Scope Management Module

This module will assist in managing the work scope requirements, preparation, execution, collection and maintaining historical data for analysis and trending. A work pack number will be generated which will track through the entire life-cycle of the work package. A “traffic light” system based on work package due date will assist the company to make sure the contractors and integrity team are managing the work within the KPI limits.

Work scope preparation Module

This module will facilitate the preparation of on-stream, shutdown, visual and adhoc inspection and also frequent monitoring work packs. It will allow printing of drawings, data sheets and checklist for the preparation of the inspection. Pre-preparation of the inspection is important for the smooth execution, hence the software will allow for printing of all the drawings, and basic requirements for inspection.

Inspection Execution Management Module

Once the scope of work has been created, it will be downloaded into MS Excel files or into datalogger machines for execution at the field. The Execution Management Module will ensure the data is collected on a daily basis and it is validated for QA/QC purpose. The software has the capability of interacting with data logger machines to create scope of work for execution. The validated data is then transferred to Monitored data storage for historical trending, to be utilised in calculations within the analytics.

Anomaly Management Module

The various data collected from inspection is screened for anomalies. Integrity engineers will be able to assess the anomalies using the ASME and API codes. The module will have the capability of storing the assessment external documents and inspection. This module allows recording damage modes and condition codes associated with the anomaly. The Inspection engineer will be able to track the associated anomalies until it is closed out.

Recommendation Management Module

The recommendation for the anomalies found will be raised automatically through the recommendation library or the inspection engineer will make the recommendation based on experiences. If the maintenance work orders need to be created for repair / replacement, the AIMS software will interface with SAP / MAXIMO to raise work order and it will be linked bi-directionally for the seamless flow of data.

Monitored Data Module

The data from all the preventative and corrective maintenance performed need to be recorded for further analysis. The results of the analyses are used to update the preventative and corrective maintenance plans for the asset to operate safely and efficiently. This data is fed into Risk Based Module for further assessment of risk. The monitored data, such as wall thickness, corrosion coupon, corrosion probes, ILI, cathodic protection and many other inspection data, will be recorded in this module.
