The purpose of an Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) is to ensure that an asset will perform its required functions effectively and efficiently whilst maintaining asset value and protecting people, the environment and company reputation. It should define the people, systems, processes, and resources that are required to maintain asset integrity, and to ensure that they are in place, are correctly utilised and will perform when required over the whole lifecycle of the asset.
AIMS should define and monitor integrity requirements through every stage of the asset life cycle. These requirements should be defined at the design stage, and then monitored and maintained throughout operational life until eventual decommissioning. AIMS should be one of the tools to maintain the asset in a fit-for-service condition, and to ensure that any life-extending modifications are implemented in the most reliable, safe, and cost-effective manner.
An effective Asset Integrity Management System will improve plant reliability and safety whilst reducing unplanned maintenance and repair costs. This will optimise both OPEX costs and the commercial performance of the asset.
Ankaa Consulting has considerable experience in developing and operating AIMS. This is achieved through the application of our key AIMS services:
- Mechanical integrity for static equipment
- Mechanical integrity for rotating equipment
- Structural integrity management
- RBI for fixed and floating structures
- Re-Assessment and analysis
- Life extension studies
- Pipeline integrity management
- Maintenance Excellence
Our holistic approach to AIM is based upon the ISO 55000 standard which represents best industry practice. Adopting this approach allows us to build the ‘structure’ of AIM consolidating and integrating all our services
