Ankaa Consulting has been entrusted to conduct a comprehensive Asset Life Extension (ALE) Study for offshore upstream facilities in Malaysia. The three-year project covers 10 offshore platforms, evaluating their feasibility for extended operation beyond their original design life.
As part of this initiative, Ankaa Consulting will develop Asset Life Extension reports to support operational scenarios extending to 2027 and 2037. The study follows a structured approach to ALE, ensuring that the facilities continue to operate safely, efficiently, and economically while aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Scope of Work
The Asset Life Extension Study encompasses a multi-disciplinary assessment, covering:
- Structural Integrity – Evaluation of topside and jacket structures, including in-place and non-linear pushover analysis.
- Mechanical Systems – Assessment of rotating and static equipment, including turbines, compressors, heat exchangers, piping, and lifting equipment.
- Pipeline & Subsea Systems – Integrity review of pipelines, risers, and corrosion monitoring systems.
- Instrumentation & Control – Examination of safeguarding devices, shutdown systems, fire and gas detection, and process automation.
- Electrical Systems – Evaluation of power generation, UPS systems, switchgear, and hazardous area-certified equipment.
- Telecommunication & Safety Systems – Review of communication networks, emergency response systems, and navigational aids.
- Wells & Drilling Systems – Integrity assessment of wells, casing, tubing, and associated drilling infrastructure.
- Process & Safety Studies – Risk-based assessments to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
